New single featuring Tony Kofi

A new a single I have recorded together with double bassist/producer Simon Paterson and featuring fabulous Nottingham born saxophone megastar Tony Kofi, ‘Who Wants to Live Forever?’ (not the Queen song) is scheduled for release on Friday 13th January  (unlucky for some!)  We also have an haunting music video to unveil the same day featuring some of my family’s cine film from the late 1940s and early 50s.

I wrote this song a few years ago while in America with my eldest brother watching his youngest and my son playing on a play park drenched with autumn sunshine; it has now developed into a somewhat experimental electronic collaboration quite different to my previous releases.  I sing while also playing keys, so it is literally our trio, plus effects including electro/dubstep style drums and swooping orchestral strings..!  I have been drip feeding teasers on Facebook and Twitter so please connect with me there to see sneak previews.

Celebrations will ensue later that evening at our gig in Baresca‘s cellar (Nottingham) from 8.30pm with Matt Ratcliffe on organ and Ian Beestin on drums so do come and join us – we will include a live rendition of the record!
